This position requires a Bachelors degree in the appropriate navalarchitecture or engineering discipline from an ABET accredited schoolof engineering, that includes differential and integral calculus, andcourses in 5 or more of the following areas of engineering: staticsand dynamics; strength of materials (stress-strain relationships);fluid mechanics and hydraulics; thermodynamics; electrical fields andcircuits; nature and properties of materials (relating particle andaggregate structure of properties); and, any other comparable area offundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heattransfer or electronics. Where appropriate to an area of engineeringspecialty, a candidate may qualify for this position based on theacquisition of a bachelors or higher degree in engineeringtechnology, physics, mathematics, architecture, or computer science(not programming or management information science).
